It all started with a dining room table and a need for change.
Our History
After earning his CPA in 1982 and working at a downtown public accounting firm for a few years, John Kasperek recognized a need for specialized, community-focused accounting services. Driven by a commitment to quality and a passion for helping his clients, he founded his own practice from the dining room table of his South Suburban home with support from his wife, Beverly. He started by providing his local government with the resources and guidance to navigate the complexities of governmental public accounting.
As word spread about John’s practical insight and personal approach, demand steadily grew. What began as a one-person operation soon expanded into a dedicated team, steadily growing to six, then fourteen, and now more than twenty professionals; each sharing John’s commitment to excellence in public service.
Stephanie Blanco joined the company in 1998 while still attending college, graduated in June of 1999 and passed her CPA exam that November. With her sharp understanding of accounting and knack for leadership, it wasn't any surprise when John offered Stephanie the opportunity to become a partner of John Kasperek Co., Inc. in 2018. Together, John and Stephanie have been leading the company's staff and developing the business to be an institution for governmental accounting in the region.
Today, with offices in Calumet City and Mokena, Illinois, we continue to build on that same spirit of community and valuable service. Our mission remains clear: to empower local governments with the knowledge, resources, and expertise they need to serve their citizens effectively.
